Did you actually read the post as to whose photo it was? Why do you think that the OP has a mentor?

I would expect to see at least something in focus on a landscape, especially with such a beautiful subject. A beautiful subject should be an element calling for raising the bar.

Either this picture is outright fuzzy (which could be the picture itself, the picture file published - maybe a small sized one, or DPR's gallery feature going bonkers, either there's a real problem with at least two of the computers of the people who read that thread - mine and the other guy who got lit on fire for pointing it out.

It wasn't what "the other guy" said - it was how he said it. Do go to his profile and look through his past posts to get a measure of the man. If you personally feel that they are all OK, e.g. dripping with diplomatic politeness, then it would appear that y'all both are birds of a feather.

In any of these cases, I see no reason to go hostile.

People who state their opinions so bluntly to the point of sheer rudeness will get short shrift from me, whether I am the target or not.
