You can toggle back and forth from the default setting to Max brightness by pressing and holding the INFO button for a second or two.

I have a related question. After brightening the LCD screen, I am wondering whether or not pictures taken would be overexposed by increased brightness. I thought that all settings could be changed accordingly.

Brightness of the screen menus / buttons / etc. should not affect exposure. On the G7X MK2 you can toggle 'Exposure Simulation' on and off, which approximates your image on screen, while you are taking it.

I looked at manual (g9x m2): The followiong paragraph was shown un Deactiving Exposure Simulation heading.

>Deactivating Exposure Simulaiton

>Images are displayed at a brightness simulating the actual brightness as captured. For >this reason, screen brightness is also adjusted In response to changes in exposure >compensation. This feature can be disabled to keep the screen at a brightness >convenient for shooting, unaffected by exposure compensation

I could not figure out exactly what this means. Does the turning off exposure simulation exhibits the

actual exposure of the scene in the camera?

AFAIK - Keeping exposure simulation on should show you what the image will look like once taken. Turning it off should not affect what is captured, but will keep things at whatever brightness you have set.

Thanks.
