Nice IQ and attractive but unfortunately extremely tedious to use

Tedious? I don't get that. I find it extremely easy to use.

, and not really adequate as a video camera.

For adequate video then buy a good video camera.

Why not spend a bit more and get a more recent camera with a built-in EVF,

I only use the screen now. But I'm speaking for only maybe 10% of the users here. The rest of the world uses smartphones with no viewfinder, so it can hardly be regarded as an essential item.

better IBIS,

The 5 axis IBIS always delivers 4.5 stops and on occasion up to 5.5 stops, so that's good enough for me.

proper video implementation,

As I said, get a video camera. The smaller sensors on video cameras make for less AF hiccups.

and even possibly a less confusing and time-wasting menu system.

The menus are fine once used a bit. In my case I have set 4 useful MySets on the Mode dial and now I rarely use the SCP and just about  never use the menu system.

My friend has an E-P5. It looks very nice, but one of the dials stopped working after a little use.

Warranty fix in my case and it still is good a couple of years later. Anyway, that doesn't stop the camera from being used as it's easy to revert back to button adjusts like the E-PL1 until the dials are repaired.

Regards....... Guy
