14 bit compressed vs 14 bit uncompressed RAW

I just saw a video on YouTube, where a photographer claimed, that 14 bit uncompressed raw contained more detail and better shadow recovery than 14 bit compressed.

I was surprised, because I thought the files should be the same

So I shot 6 photos with my D850 with a Sigma 85mm 1.4 art at f/2. Same settings, same focus point, identical photos. Only difference was compression - and I found the 3 uncompressed photos to be better than the 3 compressed. I saw better contrast and sharpness in corners.

I don't know if this is correct but I'll shoot uncompressed just to achieve optimal results from now on.

Regards, Lars
