Warbirds

Couple old warbird friends of mine came to Branson Missouri. Fifi, hadn't seen her in over 20 years, and Gunfighter, saw her last about 5 years ago. Also a couple others, an old Steerman and a C-45. Fifi & Gunfighter looked as good as ever and sounded even better.

VERY hazy that morning. Nikon D7200, Tamron 70-300 lens, with a couple shots using a very old 18-270 tamron.

Nice. Here is one I took yesterday of a T-6 Texan at Miramar, CA.

Used a slow shutterspeed to keep prop blur.

Of course this results in a lot of bad photos, but one in ten is better than ten out of ten frozen props

Guilty as charged. I used 1/2500 second for the same guy on Sunday but with a Nikon and 180mm.

When it rolls around next year I'll try 1/80.

I remembered THIS time to narrow the f/stop, and run the shutter down a bit to blur the props. Forgot to a couple weeks ago. Too use to shooting fast moving jets I guess.

Doesn't matter how slow you shoot those, ya just can't get those "jet props" to blur :-D

Yeah, jets are easy. The hardest are the helicopter types with the relatively slow rotors.
