I finally understood why my NX500 records video at 25600 ISO, and yours doesn't... If someone wants to know the trick I can explain it to you. But as any other trick once we understand it, it looses the magic...

PS: It works for the NX1 as well, I guess

Go on then, do tell..

Ok

We were all right, I mean you guys, that says it only do 6400 in video, and me.

It is a bug on the graphic interface .That bug led me to think the ISO was at 25600 when shooting video

It is easy to test, if you press the display (DISP) button, the place below on the LCD, where it says 25600 ISO, or other above 6400, allways maintains its value. On the NX1, I think it does the same, but on the small LCD above it changes to 6400. It refreshes there.

Well, another drawback, of the NX1, in relation to the Sony A6500 or to the competition. So the NX500 can't shoot video up to 25600 ISO, you were right, but I was too, righ?

I wonder why did they limit it in video? snif, snif... I thought my NX500 was special...

Sorry guys, specially to you Marky

I'm not too disappointed to be honest. I rarely shoot at above iso1600,let alone iso6400 so it's not really an issue for me.

Of course. I think if you have to shoot above 6400, you really have to use something like the A7s II. All APSc cameras are rather noisy.

I think right now, the NX1 plus the A7s II form the perfect couple.

Anyway, is good to know about this bug. I saw some tests where people thought they were shooting at 25600 ISO, when in fact they were shooting video at 6400 ISO.

Good to know and finally put this to rest. I don't really think anyone was disappointed since the video quality at ISO6400 is pretty terrible as it is, raising the ISO further would've yielded worse results.

As an example of what I was saying, in the video bellow, Magnus is comparing the GH5 and the NX1, at ISO 12800. Maybe he is doing the same mistake... I'm sure he is, right?

PS:it is video, not stills

PS: I tryed a Sony A6300 in low light, above 6400, and it is very noisy, and unusable, I don't know why it is so much fuzz about the A6300 low light capabilities...

I can't comment on that video since we can't see the back of the camera screen to confirm the exposure settings, but after testing this more, I highly doubt he was truly shooting at ISO12800.

I was able to replicate this display bug on both my NX1 and NX500 so i can confirm it affects both. To replicate this you need to press the display key and toggle through the different views until the most basic view (no other information except the exposure settings), then go into record/movie standby mode.

Once you are in record/movie standby mode the exposure settings will still show whichever ISO you were on, however you will notice the scene becomes darker because it is actually at ISO6400 rather than whichever ISO you choose.

This explains the NX1 vs GH5 ISO128000 side by side test because you can clearly see the GH5 is brighter. Again, it's because the NX1 is recording at ISO6400 eventhough it says ISO12800 on the screen.

Note, if you try to change ISO during this, the display will correct itself and limit your choices to ISO6400 too.

Yes, that sums it up
