Quick question regarding D800E/D810 and D750

And not D850, pretty weird huh?    OK, I did a bunch of shooting a week ago in the middle of nowhere, Utah, just past sunset, with my D7200, a camera I trust to get the shot.  I started at ISO 100 then 200 and wound up shooting at ISO 400 but I could just as easily been shooting at 800 to keep my shutter up higher.

Actually, the shots came out pretty sweet but I couldn't keep from murmuring "wish I had a FF here".

I keep hearing that the D750 is better at high ISOs which I'm reading to be ISO 3200 and higher, than the D8xx cameras.  But that the D8xx cameras are cleaner at lower ISOs (a bit less noise, better dynamic range).

Megapixels aside, would I have been better off with, say, a D800E than a D750 in that shooting scenario?
