Sounds about right. Definitely would not go to 6400 based on the result above. Kind of disappointed. That's roughly what I would get in a T1i at 3200, so ~1 stop improvement from 2009 to 2017. This is not bad tho, means we don't need to stress out over technical mambo jumbo and getting the latest gears, and can just focus on taking great photos.

I agree that image IQ advancement has slowed down in last 5 years. It's almost at a point of diminishing returns. Advancements between say 2002-2012 were often drastic.

Full frame was introduced when there was none.

Video was introduced when there was none.

On the lens front, many got IS when there was none.

Those are very legitimate reasons to upgrade.

What has got better is video, ease of use with file transfers, articulating screens, body size, and some high FPS. But none is very drastic, and these things don't really effect IQ.
