Good lens for full-body/environmental portraits?

I am looking for a nice sharp, contrasty, lens to use for some dance portraits in the $300 ballpark. It doesn't have to be $1k Zeiss quality since I know that's way out of budget.

I just can't seem to find something similar to a FF 30mm 1.4. Obviously the crop factor is an issue here. I love look the Nikon FX Sigma 30 1.4, stopped down to F2 for full-body portraits, but sadly I just can't afford a FF Sony right now. I own the SEL35F18, I like it, but that's still a bit too close up for me.

It would seem the Sigma 19mm 2.8 is the closest thing available. I'm just not too thrilled at the speed. Is there anything else available?
