urgent problems: Canon 1ds mark II firmware update failed
I just bought a nice 1Ds mark 2 last week, it is really in good shape, and the firmware have never been updated with previous owner, its firmware is still in version 1.0.0
but while i try to update to the firmware with my CF card and also try on SD card,
it screen show and recognize the update xxx.bin file ,but it cannot update ,it load " Update failed" and then auto reboot to menu luckily . not crash or hang the cam system.
but I wonder why its file recognize by the machine successfully, but not being install properly?
I 'm used and tried in both MAC OS 10.6 and windows 8.1 to download the file from official website canon.jp with google chrome and opera browser , it only have the newest firmware version 1.1.6 .
Is it my OS version or browser version problem can affect the downloaded file?
I have double check the file size is exactly the same as the website noticed:
* Windows, Properties size: 6.17MB (6,478,934bytes)
* Mac OS, Get Info, -> General information Size: 6.2MB (6,478,934bytes)
I attempt at MAC OS 10.6.8 + google chrome Version 49.0.2623.112 (64-bit) ,
Windows 8.1 + opera in
transfer both in CF/SD slot, same failure.
Do i need to download the previous older firmware firstly?
Is it better use back windows XP and internet explore to download it?
because the previous owner seldom use it, it still in like new condition.
I not suspect its motherboard have problems,or some modules problem?
the both card slot works and communicate wellI.
I want update the firmware because it's inconvenience that the SD slot don't regconize the card size bigger than 2GB and cf card is about 4GB.
I search in other forum, not many experts or posts talk about it,
any canon user experts can help me here?
THANKS VERY MUCH.
