Photos 3.0 vs Aperture 3.6 - What do you think?

I'm curious. What do you think of Photos 3.0 in High Sierra? I'm not a super heavy user of either, so I don't feel qualified to compare the two, but I do think Photos is improving nicely vs. earlier versions. However, what do you think of it in comparison to Aperture 3.6? I know they may not be directly comparable in all aspects, but effectively Apple dropped Aperture and released Photos to replace it. If you think Photos still has a ways to go, how long do you think it will take Photos to get to the level of Aperture 3.6?

For me though, Aperture is no longer a viable option, mainly because for my iOS photos and videos, they are all HEIF and HEVC based, and I also like Live Photos for family shots. I also even use that fake portrait mode on my iPhone too. Stuff from my Canon dSLR is another story though of course.
