One camera to do it all?

I have been thinking about this a bit and feel like if I were to get a D850, I would NOT get rid of my D500 as there is one thing that would be off if I were to do that and shoot DX, and that's the view finder would be cropped as well and not really view the final image as well as an actual crop camera.

One can counter that you could shoot full frame and just crop the portion of the image one wants.

Your thoughts on this topic?  Is having the actual view match the image important to you?
