Testing Dynamic Range between RAW file sizes on D850. So far, no complaints.

First things first.  I have no background with testing or testing methodology.  I dont really CARE.  But I want to make sure that if I go out and take a photo or try a time lapse with smaller RAW files, that I am not throwing away too much.  This is a personal experiment.

The big thing for me is REAL WORLD USAGE, not pushing the limits.  If anyone would like me to try any tests or scenarios please let me know.

I simply took an underexposed shot in my messy living room in all file sizes, then CRANKED the shadows +100 and the highlights to -50.  A very crappy scenario that will not show highlights, but I wanted to see when I cranked the shadows if I could notice anything.  I really cannot.  I resized all photos to 2048 and am p[leased to see no major difference.

So I feel I can go out and shoot at smaller raw files for trying out timelapses as well as photos like sports where I dont want massive files.

If anyone would like me to try out different scenarios, please let me know.  Like I said, this is just an amateur playing around in his living room   Next will be a better scene showcasing highlights.  However I assume shadows are a different game!
