soft proofing on a mobile device?

I'm reading about the progress made to mobile device screen technology over the last several years. Apparently many phones and tablets are now "wide gamut", and a lot of consideration has gone into how these screens display colors. I am sure, for instance, that a recent iPhone can display more colors than my budget laptop, and likely the colors are more predicable too (the laptop display is uncalibrated).

Is there a way to leverage this for the purpose of "soft proofing" before printing photos?

I know just enough about this topic to be dangerous...which is why I'm posing the question to you, the experts! Thanks for any advice!
