For me "full frame" means that frame ain't cropped.

"Crop frame" means that full frame was cropped to smaller area.

In film this was the easy thing to everyone understands and it was how it was used when someone looked your print and asked "cropped?' or "full frame?" As it explained about grain, focus, DOF, shutter speed etc.

After all, that is exactly what is happening with sensor sizes, cropping the frame in enlargement process.
