D300 view finder bright I don't think you have shot much film or a full frame digital? One reason I bought the D500 was the brighter viewfinder, since I shoot wildlife with a manual 500mm f4 P. When/if you ever upgrade, you'll be amazed how much lighter a view finder can be. Still very usable though, not the dark hole the D70(s) was, my first DSLR.

Its still alot nicer than the D5600 though
