Hurricane Jose off Long Island

As Hurricane Jose moved up the east coast I decided to see what the surf was like as the first bands of clouds had already moved in to our area. I chose to go to Nickerson Beach and take photos of the waves crashing in behind the birds. There was good serf yet not huge waves near the shore. Looking out to the horizon I could see the sea was boiling and it was raining. There were tidal pools on the beach, the first time they had been there since the spring so I assumed there had been a very high tide and the waves came in. There was also a 5 foot hill near water's edge created by the surf that had not been there a week ago. I'd planed to be on my belly shooting yet there was no way I'd lay down with that hill behind me as a rogue wave could come in and I would not be able to escape. I chose to shoot from the top of the hill resulting in a downward angle that I don't love yet safety first.
