30"+ Display Monitors for Photo Editing
1

The options for accurate displays for retouching/photo editing are many. Looks like ISP monitors are the way to go. I'm used to a 30" display, which is esp good for viewing vertical format images. I would like to keep the cost to around $1000, but as we all know there's no free lunch for pro gear.

B&H has recommended BenQ as the best bang for buck for those with a mid-range budget. I can't afford an Eizo (esp anything over 24") and I have worked on an Eizo which displayed some odd hue shift in the reds. So comparable technology at a lower price point doesn't seem unreasonable.

Looks like NEC, ACER, and BenQ all have tempting offerings for 30+" displays. BenQ has a new model which is for an affordable $800. I would like to keep the cost down, but not sacrifice color accuracy & IQ.

Suggestions from the pros appreciated.

Below is a tempting new offering from BenQ (only $800), and similar model for $1500. I find new is typically better with technology, as products tend to improve as competition reduces costs.
