In my 20 year experience shooting with Leica, Zeiss, Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Voigtlander, Olympus and Fuji lenses, the faster lenses always seem to have more character, even when stopped down. This is precisely why I never buy slow primes.

In what world is f2 a slow lens? F3.5-f5.6 kit lenses are "slow."

But if you look at the 135 format equivalent an f2 is eawivalent to about an f3 so slower than a f2.8 and an f2.8 is a slow lens.

It's only f3 in terms of DOF.  It is still f2 in terms of light gathering ability.  That is not a slow lens.
