Am I the only one that doesn’t like the Fujicron Trinity 23,35,50 f2 Lenses?

I don't usually try to get OOF backgrounds with a 35mm or 50mm EFL. I save that for the 85mm EFL, which to me looks more natural with the compressed perspective.

I'm usually shooting the 23mm & 35mm f2 at f8. Once in awhile I use f2, but mostly because it gets dark, not because I want shallow DoF isolation. These FLs tend to get a lot of background, and I tend to like the background in focus if it represents more than 1/2 of the image. Especially with video, where constant movement makes shallow DoF highly impractical without a very staged and directed shot.

My modus operandi is to shoot deep DoF by default at 'normal' FLs, so I find no need for faster, larger, more expensive primes in the 35mm and 50mm EFL for any camera system. Only at an 85mm EFL for portait type work specifically, do I want a faster lens. As it goes for me, too much DoF is better than shallow DoF, with slightly incorrect focus.

In a pinch I can see using a 35mm and 50mm fast lens to do portraits, especially as an all-in-one carry lens, but from my image history, it's a very tiny percentage. I don't see a strong purchase case for lens justified by that tiny percentage of images.

That's how I use them anyway. YMMV
