Hi,

Would anyone be so kind as to explain what exactly is the "Mount Adaptor Setting" menu option, under MENU/OK > "Shooting Setting".

Looks like it allows to manually enter focal lenght, but I'm unable to figure out how exactly it works.

I've recently purchased Samyang (Rokinon) 8mm/F2.8 lens. It works perfectly without modifying anything in the menus (apart from Shoot Without Lens = ON). I'm wondering if "Mount Adaptor Setting" is also something I should configure somehow?

Thanks!

It depends on the camera - your post is tagged with both X-T2 and X-T20.

In addition to being passed through with the EXIF the value you enter can be used by the camera to set shutter speed.

With the X-T2 using Auto ISO and setting the minimum shutter speed to Auto this value is used to calculate a "soft" minimum shutter speed.

Not sure how useful that would be for something as wide as 8mm.
