Here is a lot of useful and interesting info, but why so complicate such simple things:

Long story short:

1) Buy a card reader. Punktum.

if you have the Lexar card, why not Lexar reader? Doesn't matter much.

2) Use MacOS native tools to store files in the directory structure you like.

3) Open it in a PP SW you prefer.

More or less, people said it already here.

P.S. Silverłight is potentionally unsafe, avoid it.

Good luck

Thanks for your reply.  I have a Lexar card reader I've used for several years, and it worked great all that time with Image Browser EX.  jtstanco above suggested I try the image transfer on PSCS6 Bridge, which I didn't even know existed, since I hadn't needed it (using IB), or ever bothered to look for an alternative.  I found Bridge  "Get Photos from Camera" under the Bridge File menu, , tried it ,and discovered it works almost like IB.  So I've actually found an answer that works with a card reader and lets me put  images, or groups of images in whatever folder I want .

Also thanks for your advice about Silverlight.  I haven't had any luck downloading it, and  like you mentioned ,heard it was possibly unsafe.  Since I can use the Bridge method to transfer my images to PSCS6,that is my best alternative.

Thanks again for your help!
