Home viewing on TV is it kaput ?

I thought stereo had a new life with the 3-D TV sets.  I bought a Fuji camera and just last month a super duper Sony Blu Ray which has 3-D capability.  I thought that I might splurge for an OLED soon.  Yet, there is NO NONE NADA 3-D capable TVs that are 2017 models.  I have seen a 2016 model new for sale for 5000 dollars what we would call goniff pricing and robbery.  So nu, will LG throw in this item for 2018?  I doubt it.  Yet it costs little to add...I can only conclude that watching stereo at home is not desirable to enough people.  And that surprises me some.  What do you think?   I love some of the better movies. but this week, guess what...not a single 3-D showing in Honolulu.  ( Is a puzzlement.  I felt that the technology was doing gangbusters.  But not worth a couple extra bucks I guess.  )    Your thoughts?
