Yes that's right noise is smaller but if you compare histograms with the same exposition parameters in RAW (in JPG processin brightness is equalled by camera software) and in camera denoising levela and carefuly evaluating amount of fine detail ...

Removing the noise is simple process bud the cost we pay is also removing fine detail.

It is not possible get optimal balance with the same denoising level for each picture.

This is why some people prefer get original picture than do denoising procedure according to taste.

For my taste Fuji blurres fine detail to much and more picures I take in decent light so I prefer clearer pictures.

For darker conditions the best way is fast lens - so using low ISO.
