Need guidance on Wide Angle shot - Immediate foreground to distant background

Hello friends,

I need some guidance about shooting a wide angle landscape shot where foreground subject is just few inches away and the background subject is miles away. I see such pictures where there are flowers right in front of the camera and a mountain in the background and everything is sharp.

When the foreground subject is so close, I'm sure focus stacking is the only option to get that front-to-back sharpness. The difficulty level would increase even more if the dynamic range of the scene is high. Suppose two exposures are required for focus stacking - one for the foreground and one for the background and three exposures are required to cover the dynamic range. Total how many exposures would you take? Would it be 2 x 3 = 6? What aperture would you choose?

Can you please point me to a video tutorial or an article that illustrates shooting such scenario?

Any guidance would be helpful for a rookie like me

- John.
