D750 or D500 as second body to D700?

As my D600 + 2.8 20mm has made a plunge in a rice paddy in Vietnam, I need to decide on a replacement camera / lens.

My other camera is the d700, which I actually like more for it's color rendition, more accurate LCD screen, and better focusing.

In spite of this the d600 has been my go to because it's quiter (street photography) and it's extra resolution, but I've never been as happy with it as the D700.

So now I have a dilemma: Compliment the D700 with a D500 - which means investing in extra glass if I want wide angle for walk around with a single body, or compliment the D700 with a D750, for which I already own all lenses needed.

Lenses I have: 2.0 28 manual, 2.0 35 Af-D, 1.4 50 Af-d, 2.8 24-70 af-s, 1.4 85mm and 1.8 85mm both af-d, 2.8 105 af-s, and the 80-400 4.5-5.6 af-d. For video I use Sony a7sii and manual focus Nikon lenses.

As the d600 + 20mm are insured for € 2000 total, let's say that's about the budget for replacement.

It's been a long time since I used crop sensor (d70), but the d500 has a lot to offer - so I'm really torn between the two:

d500 or d750 ( + d700 as second body)

Any advice from you wonderful people would be greatly appreciated!

Kai
