Shall we put a bet on it?Something that's a rumour from a rumour site is still a rumour and not a confirmation of anything.
I say it's true.

It's a FT5 rumor. 43rumors clearly defines what this means. There is no need to speculate on whether it's a rumor or a "rumor" or thump your chest and make bets. Nobody has even said they don't believe the rumor is true, simply stating the absolute fact that it is a rumor until officially announced by Olympus. I'm not sure why this is hard to understand. That's exactly the langue used to suggest a bet, so yeah you're taking it and much of the language here out of context... Good thing you're "dropping it" when going for the last word in tho eh, just like "alternative statements"."Shall we put a bet on it?It's obviously "just" a rumour until we have a press release from the horse's mouth, there's little need to argue semantics... Pretty sure you took that second line out of context, he's not declaring it true but betting that it is.You say it's true?Shall we put a bet on it?Something that's a rumour from a rumour site is still a rumour and not a confirmation of anything.

There's rumors and then there's rumors tho, 43rumors has a pretty good track record with Oly ones and they tend to leak early and often... Confirmed is probably not the right word if you wanna be strictly accurate with language...
As far as common English/online parlance tho, it fits in a cheeky sorta way (see HL3 confirmed memes), no need to argue it to death.
I say it's true."
No out of context here
I was dropping it when you came along with alternative statements

If the rumor is correct and this is the next Pro lens to be released, surely there will be an official announcement from Olympus soon enough.

The thing you somehow can't grasp is that a rumor is a rumor until it's been verified

Wow! She looks a beauty. I really don't know what to think, though. I'm quite sure it will be better than my 17mm f/1.8 IQ wise. Well, I would hope so if one is planning on putting money down on this. But what about size and weight? When I look back at the reason for getting into M4/3 was to get rid of my much larger boat anchor system for a smaller lighter system. I started off with smaller lenses that you can see in my gear list, then I broke rank, so to speak, and added the 40-150 pro lens. Now I have a boat anchor and 1/2. The 1/2 being the EM5. The 40-150 is up for sale, by the way. Do we need a larger 17mm lens to save 1 stop? Years ago with film, yes, because one didn't have the luxury of upping ISO to accommodate, other than push processing. With today's technology, we can compensate for that 1 full stop with much better results from bumping up the ISO. Other than gaining a full stop, I'm sure you are gaining a bit better IQ, but could not Olympus focus on gaining better IQ with a smaller lenses, even though not as fast? Maybe I'm off base here, I don't know. I did say I don't know what to think, so this is really coming off the top of my head right now as first impressions. As much as I'm in favor of better quality lenses with better IQ, I'm not much in favor of developing anything that adds to the size and weight of a system that was designed in the first place to decrease the size and weight of gear. Bottom line for me is for Olympus to put their technology towards better smaller lenses both in build and image quality along with making the already great range of ISO settings even better. Just my thoughts on it.I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts about this, Yxa:We need som impulse control here+1?+1000It's a FT5 rumor. 43rumors clearly defines what this means.
