Hi Andrew, I have that.

I do not have my X100T yet so not tried yet.

Been experimenting and when I try and use that converter to open my NIKON NEF files, instead of ACR / PS as I usually do - it opens the folder which although is full of RAW+Jpeg files, it comes up as empty and says that 'no files match your search.'

Is that because the NEF files are already DNG so it doesn;t recognise them as anything that it needs to work on?

Just getting prepared s my worst nightmare is getting my X100T, shooting some good shots and not being able to use the files outside of the camera!

Cheers

NEF FILES

I own a Nikon D7200 so I too take pictures in Nikon raw, NEF files. Although CS6 can handle NEF files I prefer to convert these to DNG. I download these NEF files to my PC by using Photo Downloader in Bridge CS6. This converts the NEF files to DNG.

RAF FILES

CS6 cannot handle Fuji RAF files so the workflow is somewhat more convoluted as these have to be converted to DNG before further processing. I do it this way:

  • Download the RAF files to a folder I use only for this purpose using Photo Downloader in Bridge CS6.
  • Convert these RAF files to DNG with Adobe DNG converter in the same folder.
  • Delete the original RAF files after a quick check of the DNG files.
  • Append metadata (copyright information etc.) to the newly converted DNG files.

If you keep the RAF files in a folder seperate from all other files for the brief time they exist in your PC then there should be no problem with Adobe DNG converter duplicating your existing DNG files.

NOTE

Photoshop CC uses a Raw converter that can handle RAF files directly, as do the newer versions of Lightroom.
