Re: C'mon you NX30 Hommies...
ISO setting should be as low as possible. It is not a problem with static objects - we can always use 100 ISO.
Problem is when we need to freeze a movement and we have slow tele lens F5,6 or if we need larger DOF we must close even to F11 (DOF in tele range is very small)
In such situations we need very often 1/800s shutter speed or even shorter.
I use max ISO 3200 - this is limited value in auto ISO - higher can be used manualy . In 100% view picture is noisy but not more then from other cameras in this class (sometimes noise seems higher but it depends from denoising level in compared camera)
Good results can be achieved by post processing and optimal denoising level in software.
If the picture includes not so many fine detail we can use stronger denoising processing.
If there are many small objects denoising will kill them all. Than we must do a compromise procedure. proffesionals do it seperatetly from all RGB canals.
Fortunately sensor 20 MP allows to achieve good lookin 8 MP pictures - enough for 4k screens.
Looking at FHD 2MP ISO 3200 is quite acceptable.
The best solution is aovid higher ISO - and for this purpose using fast lens as 45/F1,8 helps the most.
Take into consideration that ISO value can be different in every camera.
I observed that in the same conditions NX30 offers much brighter pictures than NX10 (ca 2/3-1 EV) so for the same histogram level I can use lower ISO for the same shutter/aperture combination..
Some producers use also RAW pre denoising in camera processing.
Important thing is amount of light - ISO 3200 in lighter scenario looks better than the same camera ISO 3200 in darker scenario.
This is why ISO comparisons are difficult and only experienced users know how to differ which camera works better.
I think fast lens and NX30 allow take pictures in alll conditions.
If better paramters are needed than FF camera is must have.
Sony A7 can be a solution.
