Lightroom Print Settings for Pro 100

Hello:

In my Mac's Lightroom print settings dialog box  I can enter a print resolution or leave the box unchecked and use the native resolution of the image being printed. As I understand it, the Canon Pro 100 prints best at 300ppi so that's what I've been entering. My assumption is that with that setting the image will be either up upresed or downresed if it's native resolution isn't exactly 300 ppm.

I was watching a Morganti Lightroom print module tutorial in which he said if his image is greater than 300ppi he doesn't enter a print resolution because 'if the pixels are there, why not use them'. He wasn't printing to a Pro 100, but whatever printer he was using he didn't care about changing things if his image had good ppi's. (I think he said if it was down around 240 or less he would probably upses, depending on the size of the image being printed).

Anyhow, how do you decide what to put in the box?
