Nikon TC-14E ii with 200-500 f5.6 + D7200

Further to my earlier question about the TC-14E ii. I fine tuned the combination and set up three tests over 13m, 28m and 50m approximately. Images I show are for the 13m test and the settings are 700mm, f8, 1/1000 and 500mm, f8, 1/1000 respectively. The subject is a pot with roses and the sharpness points I'm looking at are the rose petals, the serrated leaf and the rim of the pot. I'm also looking at the bokeh off the fence behind. I've looked at both and I can't see much difference. Maybe the triple combo has more contrast and the background bokeh looks better.

I really welcome reviewers to assess these images and if possible give answers based on measurable criteria.

If you can give comparisons with other zooms or fixed lenses I'm ready to receive them without getting offended and throwing my "doll out of the pram".

I was intending to use the triple combination on small birds about 5-20 meters distant. I'm starting to think that what I gain in magnification I might lose in DOF etc. Maybe minimum focus distance will be lengthened but I can test it.
