I wasn't sure anyone would be interested in all the detail. But since you asked, here is the Zemax manual description.   And four screenshots from Zemax.    First screen shot is the PSF for a uniform pupil and we see the usual Airy rings.  Second screenshot is the PSF with the apodization factor set to one and the rings have been suppressed.   Third screen shot is the MTF with the uniform pupil.  Fourth screen shot in the MTF with apodization factor one.
