Hiya, I have also just purchased a 200d and going through the Custom functions there is a function that allows the exposure compensation to remain where it is set after power off/on.

In Custom Function 3 change the default 'Exposure comp. auto cancel' from 'enable' to 'disable' which does this.

Cheers Phil

Hi Phil -

In a reply to Kent, I had posted my frustration with the SL2 not being able to set EC -1/3 and have it hold till I personally change it. The CF 3 "default" lets user preferred EC settings revert to "0" when the camera was turned off, so that Ithe user had to reset it every time the camera was turned on again.

Yesterday a friend, (and now you), discovered that CF3 allows the user to "disable " that setting, which totally changes a major frustration I've had with the SL2.

I think it is kind of funny that disableing the CF 3 default "EC Auto Cancel" setting actually "enables" having one's preferred EC setting remain intact until the user changes it. I guess my mind was not functioning in that backward state when I set Custom Functions!    I'm glad someone caught that and especially pointed it out here ! Thanks to you and my other friend for this info !

Cheers ! carolyn
