Nx300 - Blinking green led when display is off

I had bought an NX300 a few years back, with the 18-55 kit lens.

I recently got the 16-50mm PZ ED, (the basic one, not the S version.)

This lens has a motor, so as you turn on the camera the inner part is pushed out and stays this way until you turn off the camera.

In order to save power and usage of the motor, I only set the display to turn off after 30 sec, and not a camera power off since that would pull the lens in, drain battery and tire the lens motor.

However, when the display is off, I  have the green led light blinking non stop.

I suppose this must drain some battery (i don't know how much). I cannot turn it of unless, of course, I tun off the camera completely (which would drain battery because of the lens motor being pulled in)

So far, my options are:

I can either have the display ON all the time (green light does not blink.) - it drains battery

I can power off the camera (which would pull in the lens and - it drains battery

I can leave it as it is and have the flashing LED drain battery (maybe best option?)

Is there another solution to this?

Thanks
