DC-ZS70- Great Compact! Dont' write it off!

It's not just another "tiny sensor" camera. I've written a more comprehensive review on my blog but I'll just sum up my findings here.

Image quality wise.... This is a very highly capable camera, and one that can make very pleasing images if you shoot raw and put a little care into exposure and processing. The new sensor is superior to the last two predecessors. Its better if you have more light, but raws hold up to ISO 1250 for low light work- beyond that, you are pushing too hard.

Considering the vast array of features, how well implemented everything is, how nicely it is engineered, how highly capable it is in so many ways, the trade off in image quality would be welcome to more photographers than they themselves might think. And it's one fun versatile camera to use. There is so little to complain about, in my opinion Panasonic have done an ingenious job getting this one right.

It took me using it to give it a chance. For those of you who like compacts, especially those with a built in finder like myself, this is one camera you should seriously look at or reconsider. Don't write it off, but be realistic in your expectations too.

I highly recommend the ZS70, if anything it will make a great compliment to any photographer no matter what gear they already have.
