Between E-M5 II and E-M1 II there is a major difference - E-M5 II cannot handle moving objects (like water), while E-M1 MK II can do it.

And the high-res images can give you in deed a real 2x resolution increase but only in some conditions:

-use very good and sharp lens (use fix lenses, not zooms);

-do not close the aperture more than F/5.6 because there will be difraction;

-set-up a timer delay to make the picture for high-res mode.

I will put here an high-res image made with E-M1 II + Panasonic 25mm F/1.7 with aperture set on F/4.0.

First is the original image resized to 1600 x 1200.

And here is an 100% crop made from high-res-jpeg file (so crop from the 50 Mp high-res) which in my opinion is very sharp.

And the water came out very nice, like when I would use a very long exposure time (15...30s).
