Re: SL2: A great addition to any Canon kit

Overall, I am fairly pleased with Canon on how they have spec'ed out the SL2.  They appear to have given it a very good sensor which is likely to be near the 80D for performance.  The tilt screen, DPAF, good connectivity, decent frame rate (although a crappy buffer depth), silent shutter etc.  are some really useful features.  I would have loved to have the T7i's auto focus and buffer depth but at its price point this would be suicide for the rest of the Rebel line.

The T7i is another really good camera that Canon seems to have gotten right.  It is really an 80D without a few bells and whistles.  I plan on buying either the SL2 or T7i in a few days  and right now I can't tell you which it will be.  I need some hands on time with them to make a final decision.

I would have loved a 4k video option but I knew this was not going to happen in the Rebel line this time around.  Maybe the next model will have it but we are talking about Canon here so I'm not going to hold my breath.
