Disable "automatic" exposure compensation on X-T2

OK, I hate to ask this, but the manual is not entirely clear on this...

I've noticed that even in "manual" mode on my X-T2 (where I can change the ISO, shutter speed and aperture independently without impact the other parts of the exposure triangle, as you might if you used Aperture or Shutter) when exposure metering, my exposure compensation moves a bit, anywhere from -0.6 all the way up to +0.6.  Now, I personally like to set the exposure compensation manually like I can do on my Nikon D750.  If I set it to +1.0, it stays there regardless of the exposure reading by the camera.

So, how can I disable this or is this a setting somewhere?  I looked through the manual and didn't have much luck, unless it has some odd name I'm not aware of,,, I know some people have referred to it as Magic exposure compensation...?'

Throughout all of this I can still change the exposure compensation with the command dials and the main dial on  top, but can't seem to figure out why it fluctuates even in "manual" mode when I would assume it should stay fixed at whatever I set it at.

Ideas?
