Hi!

I always go glass first. This is what will make more difference in my opinion.

i have been saying this for a long time, but folks are enamored by cameras more!

Besides, you'll probably keep the glass longer than the body.

yes indeed, i still have my first "L" lens, which i bought for my 5D and it is still as good as day one, while too many cameras have come and gone, since then!

Well - as usual, it depends. F4 glass is much more affordable and lighter, and it may in fact  be better to buy a high ISO capable body  rather than replace your F4 glass with    2.8 glass.

In some cases, you may also need the newer body - weather sealing, AF, frame rate etc.

It is true that bodies have depreciated faster - but partly because they have improved more rapidly thank glass has, and enjoy many more manufacturing economies of scale .
