I fully understand Solar Eclipse Filter,

Very funny, because I meant to say I don't fully understand Solar Eclipse Filter originally LOL!!

Respectfully, I'm not sure you do.

but I am hoping not to have to spend $100 for a single event.
I have a 82mm ND1000 which is about 10 Stops. I also have a 82mm Hoya Variable ND which is approx. 1.5-9 stops. Would combining both be sufficient???

At this stage, you should already be prepared and practicing. The sun is there most days, so easy to do.
