Hey guys!

I've been wanting to get an M5 in place of my Rebel T4i, but every time I get hold of my old Canon I come to realize I can't let go of it. So I've decided to get a compact travel camera for landscape and casual shooting. Also, I've not used video on my T4i for all the four years I've owned it.
Now the main issue is should I pay the extra 30% for a Canon M6 or will an M3 meet my needs? I take it, M6's key advantage is the improved DPAF. I'm gonna get a 15-45 kit lense and a 22/2 pancake. I might further change my EF-S 10-18 to an EF-M 11-22, depends if I enjoy shooting with EOS M. What do you think I should get?

I recently got the M3 after about a month of debating to replace a rebel and an x100s. No, it doesn't do what those cameras do best, they are both better at particular things, but it does a little of everything. I thought I would care more about the viewfinder, but have an external one if necessary.

There are several reasons I went with it.

Size, duh.

The 22 F2 lens. The 24mm 2.8 wasn't quite bright enough for me, and the fuji x100s sucks at close focusing in low light, plus I couldn't put other lenses on it. I also wanted wifi to connect to my iphone for quick snaps and a quick edit in lightroom mobile (its 2017, time to get with the program).

I basically got this camera to take where I can't take any dslr plus throw it in a jacket pocket with high quality pics.

I was using the rebel as a 2nd body sometimes, but I realize i rarely rarely shoot like that, only a few times ever.

After debating with some people, I think I am sold on the high quality/modular designs of the M3/M6... My upgrade will be the M6. I think M3/M6 are both a nice addition if you have a bunch of canon lenses, esp primes and ef-s from another system. EF-s are quite a bit cheaper than the ef-m...

My main use for this will be indoor low light shots when I don't want to take a dslr, carrying while hiking, and just a general walk around street shooter -- I'll just have to deal with the worse AF.
