On previous X series bodies (X-Pro1, X-E1, X100, etc), one could hold down the "DISP/BACK" button for a couple of seconds and the camera would go into "SILENT" mode - that is disable all sound and the flash system.

I have been trying to do this on my new X-E2, but does not seem to work. There is a menu option for silent mode, but I prefer pressing the DISP/BACK button.

Very frustrating but I found a workaround, instead of a mechanical shutter switch to the electronic shutter and turn the shutter sound off for those times when you want a silent shutter.

Has Fujifilm removed this feature from the X-E2?

My apologies if someone as asked this before.
