D500 / Tamron 160-500 G2 - slowly figuring it out
5

i finally took the dive to get back into wildlife photography which I have not done in years. I settled on the D500 and Tamron 150-600 G2 when Nikon had some really nice deals in the US a few weeks ago.

The lens so far lives up to its very good reputation and even at 600mm is reasonably sharp. In continuous AF it seems to be hunting continuously but I guess that's the price to pay for hand holding a 900mm equivalent focal length. In the end the pictures are sharp so the hunting although unsettling seem so to be working just fine.

Those are jpegs processed on iPad, so no subtlety to the processing i will work the raws when I am back home.

I know, swallows are not exactly the easiest subject to get started with, but I figured if I could get keepers on those high speed daredevils then herons and egrets would be piece of cake

10fps is a nice feature when trying to capture feeding behaviours. They are quick!
