That's it, the SL2 and 6D2 are the bodies I have been waiting for to upgrade my M and 6D bodies, although, the SL2's lack of AF micro-adjustment could result in mis-focus and reduced image quality at shallower depth-of-field. Personally, I was hoping for an EF mount crop and full frame mirrorless DSLR style bodies for the second generation of Canon's most compact EF bodies. Canon rarely does bold, so I was expecting something along the lines of what they delivered. Guessing another generation and they will consider the on-sensor tech and consumer market to have sufficiently matured to make the transition.

Anyway, buying the SL2 at $550 is a no brainer for me with so many excellent EF-S snd EF lenses available right now, all of which will deliver amazing image quality and shooting experience in a compact and light weight kit that is better than M + adapter in my experience. I will use the SL2 for the medium to long end with the following full frame lenses:

- 28/2.8 IS

- 40/2.8 STM

- 50/1.8 STM

- plus more

And I might be tempted to pickup a few of the excellent EF-S lenses along the way, such as the following:

- 24/2.8 STM

- 35/2.8 IS STM

- 55-250 IS STM

I will keep my M and 22/2 for light weight social and 11-22 for light weight travel/backpacking.

The EF-S 10-18mm is basically the same weight as the 11-22mm.

The original M with 22/2 was a dream come true with its solid build, small size, touch screen operation and excellent imagine quality.

I will continue to watch the M line, but an EF compatible mount is likely to be my best longterm solution, hopefully with a mirrorless EF mount option released soon. If not, then I might transition to the nicely maturing Sony full frame mirrorless system for the next upgrade in 2-4 years.
