100% agree. Shutter count total should simply show the total of the shutter count. It doesn't matter if you don't care about the shutter count or buyers dont care about the shutter count or its not important or whatever. Shutter count is shutter count. It definitely needs to be fixed. It's so amusing seeing fanboys of their brand immediately defending Fuji mistakes. I hope they're getting paid for it or something.

In the case of mirrorless cameras, the shutter is somewhat more active than in a dSLR. It counts activations—which is accurate—whether it results in an image or not. It shows a truly accurate count of how many times the shutter has been activated for whatever reason. Simple exposure count is meaningless. Definitely not something that needs to be fixed—only understood.
