not really. Considering that it's the lower end that still sells the units.

Then to fully leverage mirrorless, they would need to develop a new line of FF mirrorless lenses as this DPR article says, that will take lots of time and resources.

canon could obviously use DPAF sensors and the EF mount without any issues that they describe.  every single review they have done of canon DSLR's state there is little difference between liveview focus via DPAF and PDAF focus.
