T3i SD card reader broken? See pictures attached.
Jun 26, 2017
My T3i is now telling me my sd card is write-protected. I've read all about this online and tried all the tricks (pushing the card in and out quickly a bunch of times, compressed air, manually actuating the write-protection switch with a toothpick, etc). Can't seem to get it to work. The card is fine; tested in another camera.
This started after I had a hard time getting a card into my camera. It wasn't sliding in easily so I removed it to find that part of the card lock mechanism was falling off. I used a different card, which slid in fine. Now the camera says all cards are locked. I suspect the metal tab/switch which detects a locked card is stuck down/on. I'm not sure what this would look like, so here are a bunch of pictures.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Ryan
