Hello Everyone,

I just bought this lens: http://m.ebay.com/itm/332266883947?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&_mwBanner=1

For the listing it will say ended since I already won product.

I am trying to figure out what adapter to use and if their are differences between certain adapters and if any disadvantages exists for certain ones. Here is the adapter I think will work but I need advice if I have found proper adapter to use the lens:

Any help is appreciated..... Thanks!

The adapter you linked to looks like the one I have, it works fine and is decent enough quality that everything feels solid. The threaded lens mount is a separate piece held in place with set screws, so if you find that the lens markings are on the bottom side or something you can loosen those up and rotate it until things line up how you want. M42 is pretty simple, as long as the adapter provides the proper sensor to lens flange distance and doesn't let the lens fall off the camera, you're all set. You'll need to stop the lens down to the desired f-stop before taking your shot, but that's nothing unique to the M42 mount. Have fun, should be a cool lens to play around with.

Do you mean it has to be set to proper fstop to avoid issues with how things look in terms of blowing highlights or underexposure? Or are you referring to a different issue that may occur from not having lens set to certain fstop?

Just that you need to set the f-stop prior to taking your shot.  If you want f8, you have to move the aperture ring to f8 yourself, the camera will not doing any aperture adjustment.  It can match the ISO and shutter speed to whatever f-stoip you've selected though, so there is some automation on the camera side, but the camera doesn't know the different between your M42 lens or a toilet paper tube, it just reads the light coming in and makes a calculation to get what it believes is a proper exposure.
