Re: I want a Samsung NX1 + 85mm F1.4 (GAS problem)

Don't have an 85mm but do have the NX1 & NX30 (did have an NX20) with 4 lenses and have never had fit and finish problems with any of the Samsung gear. Have had those problems with a couple of the cameras & lenses from the two major brands that I have owned in the past.
Really do love the quality results I get from the NX1 (both stills & video) & if my personal situation were different I would be adding another NX1 and more lenses.
The lens I use more than any other is the 30mm pancake. Auto focus leaves a little to be desired but it is very sharp, fast, and convenient for the "street" photography that I do a lot of the time.
My only complaint is that Samsung got out of the camera business. Too bad they never figured out how to advertise their superior products!
Good to know you're another pleased Samsung shooter. I would also not hesitate to get anther NX1 or even a NX500, the latter which I owned and sold but always regretted it.
As with your 30mm the 85mm also has those focus problems but the quality results wins me over and over again.
This is only a hypothesis but I sometimes wonder if any of the major camera players had something to do with the downfall of the Samsung system, aside from their marketing strategy regarding their cameras. It seems odd they know how to play the game as far as the mobile phone market, yet not with their cameras. Or perhaps they see camera phones making the most profit, hence the shutdown of their camera system to concentrate on the mobile phone platform.
One wish is that Samsung comes up with at least one surprising mother of all firmwares for the NX1 as well as NX500. At least we have some mods for the video side.
