M3 vs M10?

Re: Several things here...

Thanks for the thoughts. Had the 15-45 previously and I'll agree it has a good snap to it. Still didn't like it's collapsible nature, I don't need it small to carry and didn't like remembering to extend it. The 18-55 was nice too, might stick with that...

1. To begin with, both the M3 and M10 are capable of superb output and with prices coming down big time, "why not get both...?" See my eBay link below the low M10 prices there.

2. The differences in MP size - 24 vs 18 are negligible, especially if you have some half decent glass to showcase the differences. I've said this often here, in that when I picked up the M10 + 15-45 lens combo for my wife (which wound up back in my hands because she couldn't let go of her cell phone camera), I was astonished at how good the IQ is on that camera. It is a simple camera to maintain and hold and it is one in which you'll find yourself reaching for it more often than not. The clarity of that combo just left a smile on my face!

3. In getting back to the M3, heck, it's really not that much larger and I love the output from that camera. And the M3 is a camera that can really surprise you positively with its output. Considering what I wrote in paragraph 1 above, I find having both cameras to be complimentary. I keep the awesome (for the genre of lens) Tamron 18-200 f3.5-6.3 III VC on the M3 and I maintain the kit 15-45 lens on the M10.

4. So I suggest that you "don't" give up your M3 - but rather, also get the M10 kit to add to the mix. You'll be glad you did.
